Foam & Kitchen Suppression

A fryer fire grows in seconds, and throwing water on burning oil makes it explode. Grease in the hood and duct carries the fire into the ceiling.

Kitchen suppression systems sit quietly above your cooking line. When heat rises, they spray a wet-chemical agent onto the appliances and into the duct, and cut the gas supply at the same moment.

Why it matters

Cooking-oil fires need their own answer

Commercial kitchens and fryers are a leading source of fires. Burning oil reacts violently with water, and grease in hoods and ducts spreads fire quickly. Kitchen suppression systems detect fire in the hood and discharge wet chemical over the appliances while shutting off the gas.

Technical depth

Kitchen & foam technologies

01

Wet chemical systems

Discharge a potassium-based agent that cools oil and forms a soapy layer (saponification) to stop re-ignition.

02

Fusible-link / tube detection

Heat-sensitive links or tubing in the hood trigger the system automatically.

03

Automatic gas shut-off

Gas to the cooking line closes when the system fires.

04

Foam systems (AFFF / fluorine-free)

For fuel stores and tank farms – foam blankets burning liquids.
